What’s included in your journey?
Day 01
New Delhi – Chandigarh – Nahan (By Train/Bus)

The adventure begins with an early morning journey aboard an express train from New Delhi to Chandigarh (approximately 3.5 hours). Upon reaching Chandigarh, you will transfer to a bus or coach that will take you to the starting point of your motorcycle expedition near the quaint hill town of Nahan (elevation: 515 meters) in Himachal Pradesh. Your accommodation will be at a hotel situated on the edge of a serene lake surrounded by hills. The remainder of the day will be dedicated to completing documentation, a comprehensive tour briefing, and a short test ride.

Day 02
Nahan – Rishikesh (135 KM)

After breakfast, you will check out and begin the first day’s ride on Royal Enfield motorcycles. The journey takes you into the state of Uttarakhand, bypassing the city of Dehradun and meandering through lush landscapes and forested areas in the foothills of the Himalayas. By afternoon, you’ll arrive in Rishikesh, situated on the banks of the sacred Ganga River.

Post check-in and lunch, you can explore the heart of Rishikesh. Stroll along the riverbanks and bustling bazaars, visit the iconic suspension bridge “Lakshman Jhula,” and admire the countless temples and ghats. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy a snack or coffee at the popular “Beatles Café.”

Day 03
Rishikesh – Lansdowne (105 KM)

Leaving Rishikesh, you’ll ride deeper into the Himalayas along scenic mountain roads, reaching altitudes of 1700-1800 meters above sea level. The route offers stunning views of snow-clad peaks from the Great Himalayan range. You will stay overnight at a hotel in Lansdowne, offering panoramic vistas of the gentle Himalayan slopes and Jim Corbett National Park below.

Established in 1887 as a British cantonment, Lansdowne is a charming hill town named after Lord Lansdowne, a former Viceroy of India. It is known for its tranquil environment, historic churches, and lush surroundings.

Day 04
Lansdowne – Jim Corbett National Park (140 KM)

Descending from Lansdowne, this day’s ride takes you along the periphery of Jim Corbett National Park, India’s premier tiger reserve. The journey offers scenic roads that cut through villages and dense forests. The park is home to a wide range of wildlife, including tigers, leopards, elephants, and over 650 species of birds.

You’ll stay overnight at a resort bordering the national park (elevation: 570 meters), a vast area encompassing lakes, grasslands, marshes, hills, and riverine belts, famous for its population of Royal Bengal tigers.

Day 05
Marchula – Nainital (100 KM)

The day begins with an early morning nature walk (approximately one hour). After breakfast, you’ll head to Nainital, a picturesque lake town. The ride involves navigating winding mountain roads with numerous switchbacks, ascending to an elevation of 2050 meters.

You can also visit the historic Raj Bhavan, built in 1897, which features Gothic architecture and one of India’s oldest golf courses.

Nainital (Local Sightseeing)

A guided sightseeing tour will cover some popular spots, but much of the day is yours to explore at your leisure. Wander through the town, browse local bazaars, or enjoy a boat ride on Naini Lake. Visit the Governor’s House or take in the natural beauty of this vibrant hill station.

Day 07

Weather on Our Himalayan Tours

Our tours start and end in New Delhi, where July temperatures can reach up to 42°C. Upon reaching Shimla (2200m) on Day 1, you’ll experience a noticeable drop in temperature.

In the Himalayas, daytime temperatures at lower altitudes can rise to 30°C, while at higher altitudes, mornings and nights can drop to 0–5°C. Rain is almost certain, and snow is possible, especially when crossing high passes.

Statistically, half of our riders are grateful for bringing rain gear, while the other half wonder if it was necessary—but it’s always better to be prepared!

Health

Please keep in mind that you need to be reasonably fit to participate in tours.

IMPORTANT: Applicants are advised against participating in any high Himalayan tours if they suffer from severe asthma,  muscular disorders, respiratory or heart disorders, or any medical precondition which might be detrimental to the health of the participant on a tour which involves spending nights in high altitudes (3500 to 4500 metres).

Please consult a doctor before booking a Himalayan tour which goes to high altitudes.

Food & Drink

When travelling through India it is advised to carry your own drinking water that has been obtained from a reliable source (RO/UV water filter) or always drink branded mineral/packaged water.

Avoid dairy products likely to have been made from unboiled milk. Milk in India is often unpasteurised and should be boiled before consumed.

Any fruit and vegetables should be cooked and/or peeled before consuming. To avoid TD or other sickness while travelling include avoiding undercooked foods and street vendors.
